September Baseball Camps

With the ongoing disruption in the public school system, Last Raps Baseball Corp. will continue to offer baseball camps in the month of September. These camps will be located in Vancouver and in North Vancouver. Each camp is 4 days in length. All of the camps are Monday to Thursday with the exception of the Labour Day holiday week where Monday is a holiday. The camps on the North Shore and at Memorial South Park will run from 10:00am to 3:00pm daily. The camp hosted at UBC will run from 9:00am to 2:00pm daily. In the event of inclement weather, Friday is reserved as a rain date. The decision to defer or cancel a day because of inclement weather will be made by 9:00am on the day of the event. If rain is in the forecast early in the day, but it is expected to clear through the day, it is likely that the camp will continue to run that day. You will be notified in the event of cancellation. In the two weeks where Monday is a holiday, there will not be a rain date for the camp.

Instructors for these camps will include current UBC Baseball coaches, players, recruits and alumni. From time to time community high school aged players will volunteer their time at our camps who have participated in the Last Raps Baseball camps or clinics in previous years. At times there will be guest instructors who have professional or collegiate coaching and playing experience. These camps will feature a number of different skill stations where young ball players will rotate through these stations receiving various skill specific instruction from coaches and players. Skill stations will include but are not restricted to, base running, throwing, hitting, infield, pitching, outfield etc. Campers will be classified first by age and then grouped by ability. Thought all skill level and abilities of players are welcomed, we strongly suggest that your young ball player is interested in the sport of baseball.

Players will need to bring their own gloves, batting helmets, bats, baseball shoes and a lunch. Those who attend need to be appropriately outfitted for baseball activities. If players do not have baseball pants, track pants and sweat pants are acceptable. Shorts are not acceptable baseball attire. A water jug will be available, but campers need to bring a bottle with them for refills.

In the event that the dispute in the public school system is resolved, Last Raps Baseball Corp. will refund money to those who have registered for a camp that is cancelled when the students return to the classroom. Further, if a camp is cut short because of the resumption of the public schools, the refund will be pro-rated to reflect the shortened week.
