In 2012, Last Raps Baseball Corp., has once again partnered with Baseball BC and select local baseball associations, to host a series of Summer Baseball Camps across the lower mainland, interior and Vancouver Island beginning in July. There will be a minimum of two camps per week held in different locations over the first eight weeks of the summer holidays beginning the week of July 3rd. Each camp is 4 days in length, Monday through Thursday, and will run from 10:00am to 3:00pm daily unless otherwise stated in the camp listing. In the event of inclement weather, Friday is reserved as a rain date. The decision to defer or cancel a day because of inclement weather will be made by 9:00am on the day of the event by Last Raps Baseball Corp.
Instructors for these camps will include current UBC baseball coaches, players, and alumni. These camps will feature a number of different skill stations where young ball players will rotate through these stations receiving various skill specific instruction from coaches and players. Skill stations will include but are not restricted to, base running, throwing, hitting, infield, pitching, outfield etc. Campers will be classified first by age and then grouped by ability. All skill level and abilities of players are welcomed.
Players will need to bring their own gloves, batting helmets, bats, baseball shoes and a lunch. A water jug will be available, but campers need to bring a bottle with them for refills.

Last Raps Baseball Corp. will be offering a series of 8 week In Season Hitting Clinics that take place on Friday and Sunday evenings. The clinics are age specific and are for those who are aged 8 to 18 years old. Clinics are 90 minutes in length. The maximum number of participants in each clinic will be 8. With a Full clinic, we will work at a ratio of four participants to one instructor. There will be no clinic on the May Long Weekend.
For the hitting clinic, players are required to bring their own helmet, bat, glove, batting gloves and spikes. If the opportunity presents itself, we will take those participating outside. Clothing for both indoor and outdoor activity should be worn. The facility has a turf floor and spikes or turf shoes are acceptable.

FAQ’s about summer camps
1) My young ball player is an elite level player. Is this the right camp for them to be participating? Yes. It is our objective to break up the players by age, skill and ability. With greater numbers in the camp, we can focus on the skills with the young athlete where they need the most focus.
2) My son is an AA player and needs to be with the better group. Can you put him into that group? Our first objective is to sort the campers by age and then by ability. Depending upon the organization that your son plays for, he might be a very good player on an average rep or all star team. The instructors at Last Raps Baseball Corp. will always try to work in the best interest of the young ball player and therefore place them where we feel he can develop the most and their speed.
3) My daughter has signed up to be with her friend, and you have split them up. Why? The split may not be intentional, but sometimes those who sign up with their friends become a distraction to one another which in turn can cause the other campers to be distracted and ultimately disrupting those who are instructing.
4) Are the camps about fun and games? Our primary focus is to provide technical instruction to the campers and develop a skill set that they can take back with them to their organizations. They should have a love of the game when they arrive and be looking to improve their own skills and abilities. This structure is a fundamental shift from the camps offered in 2009 by Baseball BC and UBC.
In the coming weeks, we are sure to have more questions and will share our responses with those who check our website.
Over time some customers contact us with regards to problems registering their campers through the Thriva Network website. We would like to offer a few points that may help you through the registration process.
1) I have registered my son/daughter for one of the clinics. How do I know that they are in the clinic I have selected? – Immediately upon registration, the Thriva Network generates a “Real Time” e-mail confirmation that is sent to the e-mail address you have provided.
1b) I have not received my e-mail confirmation of the registration of my son/daughter. Why? – This could have a variety of answers. You have entered the incorrect e-mail address. The e-mail confirmation has been sent to your Junk or Spam folder. Finally, you haven’t submitted the registration form on the Thriva site to complete the registration.
2) My computer freezes or times out when I am in the registration process. – Thriva uses flash technology and you should always keep your Flash updated to the current version. You may need to clear your cache in some cases.
3) Every time I go to register, Thriva kicks me out of the registration process. – Have you checked your browser’s security settings? This may impact your ability to view certain websites depending upon the parameters you have chosen.
4) Thriva is timing out. Why? – We have experienced customers who have Mac’s and are using Safari that have had this type of issue. We have not isolated it to an older version of Safari, but will continue to monitor this situation.
5) The Thriva network is not accepting my postal code. – Initially, Surrey residents who complained about using NEW postal codes were kicked out of the system. We have not had this problem in over a year, but you should note that your postal code will be tied to your credit card.
If none of these issues solve your problem, please contact us via telephone: 778-989-6924

If you are interested in joining our weekly e-mail list, simply put ADD in the subject line of the message and send the e-mail to e-mail: info@lastraps.com.
If you are on the e-mail list, and wish to be removed, simply put REMOVE in the subject line of the message and send the e-mail to e-mail: info@lastraps.com.
For those who forward e-mail’s along to another e-mail address, in order to be removed from our list you need to respond from the original e-mail address. Some organizations have an e-mail system set up to forward e-mails to the receivers personal account at home. We cannot remove this from our database unless it is from the original e-mail address.
